5 Reasons Why Chia Seeds Can Improve Your Health.

Chia seeds are one of my favorite superfoods to add to everything from smoothies, to muffins, to non-dairy yogurt for added protein and other health benefits.



1. High in Omega 3 Fatty Acids ⁠⁠

  • Good for brain health
  • Improves risk of heart disease
  • Helps fight depression and anxiety
  • Fights inflammation
  • Helps fight age-related Alzheimer’s disease

2. Antioxidants  ⁠⁠

  • Chlorogenic Acid: Helps slow the release of glucose ⁠⁠
  • Caffeic Acid: Beneficial for Cancer prevention and asthma⁠
  • Quercetin: Known for its anti-inflammatory properties⁠⁠

3. Plant-Based Protein  ⁠⁠

  • For those on a plant-based diet, this can be a great way to up your protein intake.

  • An excellent source of high fiber. 2 tablespoons of chia seeds provide 10 grams of fiber, amounting to one-third of the daily recommended fiber intake.⁠⁠

1/4 cup of chia seeds

1 cup of almond, cashew, or coconut milk

2 tsp of coconut sugar

1 tbsp of cocoa powder


Put all ingredients into a glass bowl and stir. Cover and refrigerate overnight.  I like to top it with granola, blueberries, or even a drizzle of almond butter!
